About me and my therapy practice

Are you a counsellor or therapist seeking professional supervision that prioritizes your growth, self-awareness, and well-being? I offer individual counselling supervision grounded in the Person-Centred Approach, providing you with a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental space to explore your practice.

With a focus on building trust and fostering a collaborative relationship, my supervision sessions are designed to help you:

- Reflect on your client work and enhance your therapeutic skills.

- Explore your own emotional responses and self-awareness in your practice.

- Navigate any challenges or ethical dilemmas you encounter in your work.

- Foster personal growth and self-care as a professional.

Whether you're new to the field or an experienced practitioner, my supervision approach is tailored to your unique needs, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your practice, while always maintaining the highest standards of care for your clients.

Practice description

I use the Tudor and Worrall Person-Centred model of supervision, but I also draw from other models. I bring my years of experience as a practitioner, my passion for the Person Centred approach and my sense of humour!

I aim to support you not just in the therapist-client process, but also in all the other aspects of your practice. From your first training steps, to policy building and getting ready for private practice, and also walking alongside you in your established work.

I enjoy learning about counselling and psychotherapy and keeping update with the latest research is part of my job in academia, and I will continue bringing in new knowledge to our working relationship.

I am an accredited Diploma level trainer with COSCA and hold the title of AFHEA with AdvanceHE which makes me qualified to offer training supervision for trainers.

Also, as an experienced tutor on the postgraduate Person-Centred program and the undergraduate Counselling skills program, I have in depth experience of the challenges of training. I am happy to offer supervision for trainees to a reduced rate.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a Person Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Aberdeen.  I am Program Director at the University of Aberdeen, for the training of person-centred therapists.

I am experienced in working with anxiety, depression and trauma in adults. My particular area of interest is working with Ex Boarders or relatives and partners of those who have attended Boarding School.  I have produced academic research about bilingualism in therapy and I also have a fair amount of experience in working with neurodiversity. I am trained for working with interpreters.

As a bilingual speaker myself, I can offer sessions in both English or Italian. Sessions can be delivered online or in person and can take the form of long or short term therapeutic work.

As a trained outdoor therapy practitioner, I can also offer outdoor sessions in the warmer months.

Practice description

I offer a safe and confidential space where you can explore anything that has been holding you back in life, or that has caused you unhappiness. My person-centred approach allows me to ensure therapy is conducted at the pace and depth that feels right for you. My aim is to support you as you embark in the exploration of your life's journey, and to provide you with the therapeutic relationship that it is key to positive therapeutic outcomes. The person centred approach it is intended to facilitate long-term changes in the client's life.

Do you get really stressed when you do not have any task to complete, or finding it hard to relax? Do your loved ones report feeling often at loss in the relationship with you? Have you ever struggled with addiction? Have you attended Boarding School? Do you live in a country different from the one you were born in, and finding it difficult to adjust? Does you anxiety prevent you from leading the life you want? Do you fear others might see you as a failure? Do you feel undeserving of happiness? Do you feel depressed and finding it hard to carry on? Have you lost a loved one, and are finding it difficult to cope?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions (but not just), I can help!
