About me and my therapy practice

I work in an integrative and relational manner, whereby I help you to expand your skill set whilst exploring what goes on in the room and between us.

I currently work with student therapists in an agency setting and am looking to expand my practice to work with both trainee and qualified therapists.

My training also allows me to work with others in helping professions.

I am practiced in working with groups and individuals, so can be flexible in terms of my approach to supervision.

Practice description

I work in a collaborative way, looking to support, nurture and challenge you as you develop your practice.

I use the 7-eyed model of supervision to enhance the supervision process.

About me and my therapy practice

My name is Lianne Gilmour and I have been practising as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor since 2016. My working style is Integrative and Relational, whereby I draw on many theories and techniques, whilst holding our working relationship at the fore. Our work will be a collaboration and I will check in with you to make sure the therapy and I, am meeting your therapeutic needs. I am down to earth, practically minded and passionate about doing the work with you!

I bring my own varied life experience, along with the skills I have learned in my formal training to my work. This enables me to be with you in your healing journey in a compassionate, empathic and ethical way.

Practice description

I completed a Level 4 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in 2018 and have 6 years of clinical experience with a wide range of client presentations.

I continue to volunteer as a Counsellor at an agency working with complex issues around addiction since 2016.

In 2022 I completed a BSc in Counselling Research and Contemporary CBT, gaining a 2:1.

I have undertaken CPD training around Addiction, Shame, Grief and Diversity. I am passionate about working in a trauma-informed way. This means that we will work with your self-regulation in the room, to contain any overwhelm, keep you in control and stay safe with your story. It also means that I will use aspects of Psychoeducation and Neuroscience for both of us to understand what’s coming up for you.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation to decide if booking a first session is suitable.

Our first session will look different from usual sessions, in that I will complete an assessment to ensure I can meet your therapeutic needs.

This will be an opportunity for us to decide that we are the right fit, alongside regular and ongoing reviews of our work together.
