About me and my therapy practice
Having qualified in 2000 I have worked in schools, GP surgeries, and latterly in private practice, predominately with young adults, graduates, and senior professionals using a person-centred approach alongside Gestalt, elements of CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), and extensive coaching skills.Practice description
My foundation year was in Psychodynamic counselling, with my diploma in Person-Centred Counselling.
Having a career in leadership for several decades provided me with the skills and insights needed to enable others become the best they could be by identifying their innate skills, and critically, discovering their purpose.

In any supervisory position it is important to establish trust, compassion, and an approach that will enable the supervisee to quickly feel at ease.
We each need reassurance about our skills and abilities, and to feel we'll be challenged in a none-judgemental way to ensure our safe practice and growth as counsellors.
Working together in a way that makes progress accessible our first session will help to establish understanding and a shared determination to achieving the results you strive for.

About me and my therapy practice
My aim as a psychotherapist is a simple one – to encourage more people to feel comfortable talking about their mental and emotional health, to improve lives by truly listening, reflecting, and helping you find your own answers to challenging or complex feelings.
By working together in a straightforward and uncomplicated way, answers can be found, perspective gained, enabling you through difficult times and emotions, to achieve clarity, calm, and resilience.
Practice description
With a background in nursing, and then leadership, I combine compassion with practicality to enable you to discover the best solution for you, at a pace you feel confident with.
In essence, I work with whatever approach I feel will bring the best results and be the most relevant for the individual, helping you to discover your own meanings and insights, instead of telling you mine.
My foundation is in person-centred therapy, with elements of CBT, Gestalt, Cognitive therapy, and various coaching techniques
My first session
You are invited to provide essential information prior to your appointment in order to allow for communication to be made. At our first appointment you can expect a relaxed exchange to enable a connection to be made between us. This will ensure you're able to feel comfortable to share, explore, and understand the issues you're struggling with.
It is fundamental to the success of your counselling that you 'click' with your therapist, feel trust, and ultimately a strong sense of being understood.
