About me and my therapy practice

Good supervision requires the ability to support and teach, to consult and counsel, whilst at the same time being able to monitor and evaluate. Possessing a knowledge of theory and of professional ethical issues, I offer therapists a space to develop and grow, setting up a learning relationship.

I supervise therapists from all modalities and offer concessions for trainees.

Practice description

My private practice is based at Brighton Consulting Rooms, just outside Preston Park station. Public transport links are good although parking is very limited in that area.

I offer inclusivity and respect for diversity.

About me and my therapy practice

There are many reasons for coming to therapy. Perhaps you have reached a point of crisis or would like to understand yourself better. By acknowledging difficult feelings, we can begin to recognise patterns of behaviour that are no longer helpful, and try to make sense of past issues that still affect you in your present. As a psychodynamic therapist, our work would include an exploration of the underlying causes of current difficulties, rather than focusing solely on the symptoms those difficulties may be causing.

Alongside my private practice, I also work at The Rock Clinic, seeing clients in many different circumstances and at various life stages. I offer inclusivity and respect for diversity.

Other trainings I have undertaken include couples work accredited by the NCIP, decolonising psychoanalysis via the Guild of Psychotherapists and CBT with Heart.

I am also a BAPPS trained supervisor, supervising therapist of all modalities.

Your journey is important to me; whether it's helping you to deal with a life event that has destabilised you, providing a safe space to verbalise difficult thoughts and feelings, or enabling you to understand your behaviours and the behaviours of those around you. Get in touch to discuss how to get started.

Practice description

My private practice is run from the Brighton Consulting Rooms, just outside Preston Park station.

An initial phone call from me would give us the opportunity to discuss what is bringing you to therapy at this point in time, and would allow us both to get a feel for whether or not I would be the right therapist for you.

Therapy sessions last for the standard 50 minutes and, once started, would take place at the same time every week. The therapy is open-ended, which means that the number of sessions you have is at your discretion; you may want to start with 6-8 sessions and then review, or you may be looking at longer-term therapy which can continue for months or years.

All communication is strictly confidential and I have full professional liability insurance.

My first session

On hearing from you, I will contact you to arrange and initial phone call which will allow me to understand your current situation and what you are expecting from therapy. There is no charge for this call.

The next step would be for me to send you an online assessment form (CORE) to give me a more in-depth idea of what's going on for you. We would then find a time and day that works for us both and will arrange the first session.

Sessions cost £60 including the initial session. Payment can be made at the end of the session via my card reader.
