Josie Mariano

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, Counselling Educator and Academic Supervisor. I work in private practice with children, young people and adults in open ended therapy. I offer both long-term psychotherapy as well as short term counselling. 

As a bilingual therapist, I can provide counselling in Italian for those who feel most comfortable speaking in their native tongue 

My current professional interests include somatic approaches, use of creativity and supporting clients and trainees to explore their attachment strategies. 

I hold a graduate degree in Psychology, a MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy for Children, Adolescents and Adults and an APT Accredited Certificate for Clinical Supervision. I am currently undertaking further training to qualify in online clinical supervision at Level 6 (Advanced Cert.)

I am a registered member of BACP and I have clinical accreditation with UKCP as a Child and Adult Psychotherapist.

My supervision practice follows a developmental model that can supports both trainees and experienced practitioners. This approach adapts to your level of experience, providing structured guidance, skill-building and feedback for those in training, while offering collaborative and reflective support for qualified practitioners. The focus is on fostering growth, building confidence, and enhancing professional skills at every stage of your career, ensuring supervision is tailored to your unique needs and development.

Face to face appointments available mainly on Friday and Saturday.  

Some online and face to face appointments available in the afternoon on Thursday. 

I am friendly, down to earth, approachable and non-judgemental. I am highly motivated to work in the best way to address your needs effectively. I choose to work in an integrative way which means I am flexible in my approach and use collaboration as the basis of our therapeutic work.

I work as a Counselling and Psychotherapy Lecturer and I have extensive experience of working with adolescents and children in a variety of clinical and educational settings. I have professional indemnity insurance in place and a DBS Check.
