Hi, I’m Rachel. I am an integrative counsellor working in private practice with adult individuals presenting a wide range of concerns.

In my experience having a counsellor who can support both you and your clients is essential and rewarding. However, I believe that feeling supported and accepted are key elements of good supervision.

ABOUT ME

During my training as a counsellor, I volunteered with Lewisham bereavement counselling and St Christopher’s hospice. I continued working with these organisations after I qualified in 2020. From there I set up my private practice, working part time alongside my main job as a hairdresser. My practice grew very quickly to allow me to work full time from my own privately rented counselling room in Southeast London. I have keen interests and experience with bereavement, anxiety and culturally informed counselling.

I am currently offering free supervision online and face to face as part of my 20 hours needed for my supervision training.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw upon a variety of therapeutic approaches to tailor my practice to the unique needs of each individual. My experience encompasses working with clients facing a range of challenges, including bereavement, childhood trauma, and anxiety. I believe that every person's journey is unique, and I am committed to providing a compassionate and supportive space for exploration and healing.

Having grown up as a mixed-race individual, I have a personal understanding of the complexities surrounding identity and cultural issues. This background has enriched my ability to connect with others from diverse backgrounds and to navigate the many differences of their experiences. I am particularly attuned to the impact of discrimination and the ways it can affect mental health and self-perception.

Through my work, I aim to empower individuals to embrace their identities, process their trauma, grief, emotions and develop resilience in the face of life's challenges. I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.
