About me and my therapy practice
I'm a person-centred trained counsellor working in private practice and in an NHS Talking Therapies service, using PCE-CfD. I've also supported clients through The Samaritans and Cruse Bereavement Care. I have a special interest in grief work and perinatal work. I hold BACP accreditation.
I'm currently in supervision training with the Centre for Supervision and Training Development (CSTD, London). The training focuses on the 7-eyed model of supervision, which is applicable across counselling modalities.
In order to complete my training, I need to accrue supervision hours with supervisees. Therefore, I am offering half-price supervision sessions, with that rate capped until 31 January 2025. I have checked this arrangement with the BACP Ethics hub and they have confirmed it is acceptable to them.
I am based in Norwich for F2F work, or remotely via Zoom/Teams.
Practice description
At the heart of therapeutic work is the relationship between client and counsellor. I'm keen to be able to support supervisees in their role as counsellor, to develop in their practice, to navigate the challenges, consider practical concerns, champion practitioner wellbeing and celebrate successes!
Counselling can be a rollercoaster of feelings and experiences. I will hold a safe empathic space in which to honestly explore the various facets of this role - how you are within yourself and within your therapeutic relationships. I will work to understand and support your practice with warmth and curiosity, and to provide challenge when appropriate.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Clissie, I’m a BACP Accredited Person-Centred counsellor. Thank you for viewing my profile.
We’re all used to receiving advice from family, friends and colleagues about how best to solve our problems. However, these well-intentioned solutions often do not provide the right answer for us, especially when our issues are very complex or longstanding. Over time, this can result in us becoming reluctant to share our struggles, for fear of feeling judged, shamed or simply misunderstood.
I work within the person-centred approach, where the counsellor is not considered an expert who simply ‘fixes’ people. Instead, I believe my role is to facilitate the right conditions to enable you to find your own path towards resolution. Each pathway is as individual as we are and, I believe, we each have the resources we need within us.
Practice description
Counselling is a shared endeavour. Building a trusted and supportive therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor is key. By offering a safe and accepting space to explore who you are and how you feel, free from judgement, I will aim to help you find new ways to understand and better accept the emotions and experiences that you may be struggling with. I know from personal experience that Person-Centred counselling can be incredibly healing.
You may be holding concerns that you have never shared with anyone else, including those closest to you. I will never apply any pressure on you to share anything that you do not wish to. Counselling in my practice goes at the pace of the individual client and evolves in the way best suited to you. There is no set formula.
I hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred counselling from The Norwich Centre, a BACP accredited qualification. I have worked with clients in general counselling practice at St Barnabas Counselling Centre, and in NHS Talking Therapies, as well with clients at Cruse Bereavement Care and The Samaritans, gaining over 12 years’ experience in total.
I would be happy to talk with you about how we could work together. Please contact me at: ct-counselling@hotmail.com or on 07599 073373
My first session
At the first exploratory session we get to know one another a little better. We’ll touch on what has brought you to counselling at this time, as well getting a feel for whether we can work therapeutically together. At the heart of the work is our relationship, so it’s important that we feel like a good fit, as well as whether Person-Centred counselling feels right for you.
I will also explain practical issues such as data protection, how to make payment and cancellation policy.
I offer the first exploratory session, of up to 1 hour at half price, £25.
