My first session
The first session indeed sets the foundation for the therapeutic relationship. I will be establishing comfort and trust is crucial for effective therapy. My initial conversation about what my client wants from the therapy helps the client to align their goals and expectations and fosters a collaborative approach.
The establishment of the counselling contract, discussing boundaries, and outlining confidentiality are paramount for enhancing my client's comprehension and ensuring a secure therapeutic environment.
