About me and my therapy practice
I am based in the Sidcup area and offer Supervision to experienced and trainee counsellors.
I work with individuals and small groups and provide space and opportunities for therapists to process, reflect and grow within their client work. I use an integrative approach within the supervision drawing on a few different models (“Seven-eyed" Model approach but integrate the Tandem and CLEAR models, depending on experience and the needs to each person).
It is important that Supervision provides opportunities for therapists to be empowered and supported to talk about the dynamics within their client work and to get a deeper understanding of how this may be impacting on them personally and professionally. I aim to work collaboratively, supporting you to be reflective, problem solve, consider different ways or working and to signpost you to resources and good CPD. I also believe a good supervisor holds the therapist enabling them to work smarter and keep them in a healthy work/life balance watching for burnout and compassion fatigue.
My Fees:
£50 per hour/£70 for 90 minutes
£40per hour for Trainees
Group sessions (max 3) £75 for 90 minutes
Practice description
I am an integrative practitioner which means I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches to suit each client I work with I have Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills and Theory.
My approach reflects the needs of the individual and is decided after initial assessment, collaboratively as this work is about you. We may, for example, use a person-centred approach looking at your life and the difficulties that you are experiencing, psychodynamic looking at past experiences and their impact or more practical goal orientated work with measurable outcomes. I look to provide insight and psycho-education within the work to enable people to move forward and feel empowered to manage their emotional/mental wellbeing in the future.
My first session
After an initial introductory call (free) we will set up an initial session agreeing a time and the duration of the sessions (1hr or 1.5hrs) and regularity.
At our first meeting I will help you to identify what you are hoping to achieve from the sessions, what your past experiences of supervision have been like (what has worked and what has not) or if you are a trainee I will help you to learn about the process and how it works.
I will check on your current client list and get a brief overview of each person. This enable us to ensure that the supervision is rounded and you can reflect on themes or particular issues that may be coming up.
We will then look at a ways in which I can help you develop your understanding and skills, support you with concerns, professional growth etc, look at any dilemmas and ensure you are working ethically and safely and looking after your own wellbeing.
Sessions will then run at agreed intervals and be subject to reviews to evaluate how things are going and ensuring your needs are being met.

About me and my therapy practice
Life can be a series of rollercoasters and emotional see-saws especially in these difficult times. Feelings of being anxious, depressed, low in mood or lonely often surface and feel overwhelming but it is okay to ask for some support.
My name is Carolyne and I'm a trained integrative counsellor. My role is to listen to you and hear what you have to say, be empathetic, non-judgemental and support you to get some emotional clarity. By working alongside you we can help to restore your self-confidence and self-worth, work through difficult, and sometimes painful, issues and find better ways to cope with life.
I'm your sounding board and someone who can help you unpick what is going on for you in a safe and confidential environment. I'm here to support you in finding your own solutions and help you understand what is going on in your world. We work together to explore your emotions and address your feelings. Our work may take us to your past or be focused in the here and now.

As a former secondary school teacher I can offer support to older students (Years 12 & Year 13, students starting university or in further/higher education who need support with issues that they may be experiencing).
In the past I have volunteered for various charities (bereavement, a low cost counselling organisation and I worked at a refuge supporting survivors of Abuse. I continue to offer concession rates to students and trainee counsellors within my private practice.
I have a particular interest in anxiety and stress management and have training in techniques such as breathing exercises for anxiety and mediation skills to help calm an anxious mind or refocus a busy brain.
Approaching someone for therapy can be really difficult, but having a quick chat to ask questions will give you an informed choice, so please feel free to contact me.
My first session
We use the first session to assess and discuss what is going on and how therapy can support you. The assessment will include some questions and running through the Therapeutic Contract (an agreement between us about how we work safely and confidentially).
Please allow up to an hour for your first session.
