About me and my therapy practice
My services are offered to children, teens, adults and couples.
My main therapeutic approach is Adlerian, or in other words integrative therapy, as it combines techniques from different approaches. However, Adlerian therapy is mainly psychodynamic and it can be adapted for your own specific needs. That means that while working together we will explore your values (what you consider important in your life), we will analyse the influences from the past on your core beliefs, we will establish goals for the future and we will explore your internal resources in a way that encourages positive change. This approach might take time. Having previous work experience in an NHS (IAPT) service, I often combine my main approach with CBT techniques for clients who are seeking quicker solution to their concerns.
I am also familiar with DBT techniques, a type of CBT specially adapted for people who feel emotions very intensely.
My work with children includes therapeutic play and storytelling through therapeutic stories. I use structured interview and discussions with teens and adolescents above 10 years old. I encourage the children aged under 10 years old to express their feelings in various ways (e.g., drawing) if they wish to do so.
I offer parenting advice sessions to families based on Adlerian principles of positive parenting and I have experience in delivering workshops, parenting courses and CPCAB counselling courses.
My education history includes a BSc in Psychology, a BSc in Social Work, a Diploma in Adlerian Psychotherapy, an MSc in Psychotherapies and Clinical Psychology, an MSc in Health Psychology and an MSc in Management of Human Resources.
I am a Bupa provider.
