About me and my therapy practice

My experience as a counsellor includes counselling CYP in schools with Place2Be, as well as extensive bereavement support with Wigan & Leigh Hospice and the National Bereavement Partnership. I have also gained knowledge and experience of counselling service users at addaction a drug and alcohol recovery organisation.

I currently work part time with Place2Be in schools, as well as offering counselling and supervision through my private practice Believe in you Counselling.

Practice description

I offer supervision both face 2 face and online, i have completed the counselling tutor course to enable me to safely offer support online.

If you would like more information, I offer a free 30 minute zoom meet and greet session, to give us an opportunity to discuss supervision and your expectations, so you can then take some time to make an informed decision, as to whether you feel my experience meets your needs and you feel comfortable working with me, as this is key to getting the best from your supervision. Supervision sessions are then £40 per 1hr and £60 per 1.5hrs.

The face 2 face sessions take place  from a room in lovely Victorian house in Leigh. The office has lots of free parking and has good links to the East Lancs and motorways, as well as only being a 5 minute walk from the Vantage Guided bus route into Manchester City Centre.

If you have any questions or would like to book a meet and greet session, please feel free to email, call or text, I aim to respond within 24hrs.

About me and my therapy practice

Welcome, thank you for taking the time to visit my profile.

Taking the first step to seek out support can seem overwhelming, wondering which counsellor or type of counselling will suit you and the difficulties you have been trying to manage on your own. It's important to take time to get a feel for the counsellor you choose to work with, if after reading my profile you have questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch, I will be happy to arrange some time to give you a call, to discuss further how I maybe able to help support you through this difficult time.

The main modality and foundation of my practice is person centred approach, this places you at the centre of the work, as we as individuals are experts on ourselves, we know what hurts, we know how life and relationships have impacted us. I offer a safe non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions, to help you to take back control of your life, by empowering you to believe in you.

I find for some clients that using an integrative approach using different tools and techniques can be beneficial, as we are all different and counselling is not one size fits all, just as we all learn differently, we all process events in our lives and our thoughts and feelings in our own way. CBT counselling, which is goal focussed and looks at changing dysfunctional thoughts and behaviours, that can be causing difficulties.
