About me and my therapy practice
Therapy for me encompasses three key values: connecting with people, working creatively, and discussing life philosophically.
I came to therapy through my own trauma, coping mechanisms and journey of self-acceptance. I know first hand how difficult it can be to take that first step. When we feel that we 'should' be able to cope and manage by ourselves. Often denying or minimising our feelings and experiences.
Whilst it can be hard to open up and explore difficult feelings and painful life events at first. The transformation I gained and see from my clients through this process is what gives me the passion for the work that I do.
Therapy has evolved from the days where you would expect, a very silent aloof professional nodding and making soothing noises. I see myself as a therapist who is a collaborator; a present, active and engaged participant in your process.
Together we will work to bring greater self-awareness to what is troubling you and what aspects of your life you are wanting to address and change. Offering my own thoughts, feelings and observations to help make connections between present difficulties and past experiences.
I am currently taking on new individual clients and couples as well. So please feel free to contact me to discuss any questions you may have and to make arrangements for counselling.

My first session
I offer reduced fee bands. Please include this when sending your enquiry.
Our first session together will be your assessment session. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and to dive into the reasons for you coming to therapy.
I work with an open-ended process so there are no fixed number of sessions that we work to.
Some of my clients have been with me for years, others find they get what they need from shorter term work between 12 and 24 sessions.
As the work evolves we will have regular reviews to check in. Monitoring both the progress that is being made as well as any blocks or resistances we may encounter along the way.
I offer face-to-face and online counselling.
Please email me if you have any further questions or would like to make arrangements for counselling.
