About me and my therapy practice
I work in private practice, with a mix of private clients and EAP clients. I have worked in a Counselling Research Clinic, which has given me a a wide knowledge of measures and questionnaires. I also have experience working as a counsellor for a cancer charity. I have experience in both short term and long term therapy.
Especially if you are in private practice, I can help you to work ethically while also ensuring that your practice thrives.

About me and my therapy practice
In my therapeutic work, I do not only use my academic knowledge to help you, but I also draw from my own lived experience of abuse and post-traumatic growth.
I strongly believe that everybody can heal and thrive with empathy and acceptance. My approach is infused with compassion and gentleness. I will work with you to create a safe therapeutic relationship. Together we will explore and process those emotions and experiences that trouble you today, so you can be happier.
I provide therapy to adult individuals. I am a BACP registered Psychotherapist in private practice in Stirling; I also receive referrals from Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). My therapeutic orientation is humanistic and experiential, primarily drawn from Emotion Focused Therapy.
I grew up in Belgium, where I worked in law and banking. I also trained as a translator and a teacher. I moved to the North of Scotland as an adult. Later, I retrained as a therapist, gaining an MSc in Psychotherapy at Strathclyde University in Glasgow. I qualified in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) with Dr Les Greenberg and with Dr Robert Elliott, who are both at the origin of this evidence-based modality of therapy. I trained with Dr Sandra Paivio in EFT for Trauma.
I love hiking with my Border Collie Moss and going on road trips.
Practice description
Are you looking for therapy?
Are you a stressed worker? are you anxious? Maybe you feel overwhelmed at the moment and you want help managing stress. Are you feeling anxious or do you have panic attacks, without being quite sure what has brought this on? Therapy can really help you. You can learn to manage stress and learn to say no. Our work together can help you to decide which changes, if any, you want to make. I recommend a block of six weekly sessions for work-related stress.
Undecided at one of life's crossroads? Do you feel unhappy with your current life? Do you have doubts about your career or your relationship? Are you feeling ambivalent and unsure which choice is right for you? Therapy can help you to figure out how you feel, what you want and needs you can become more confident about making those life choices. I recommend a block of ten weekly sessions for career and relationship choices.
Have you been struck by a catastrophe ? Have you experienced trauma? Are you in the aftermath of a life-changing event? An accident, the death of a loved one, a crushing diagnosis? Or maybe you have experienced childhood trauma? You may feel that your world has collapsed and you feel overwhelmed. Or you can't feel anything at all any more. Therapy can help to reduce the impact of past experiences on you today. Together we will safely and carefully look at what happened to you and how you feel. Although it will hurt, it will also feel good to tell your truth. You will become more comfortable to feel and process your pain. Together we will find your resilience and nurture your self-compassion. Trauma therapy takes longer. I recommend to plan for twenty weekly sessions.
Are you an expat looking for Therapy in French or in Dutch? I am of Belgian origin and I am a native speaker of both languages. I also sometimes conduct therapy with clients who are not located in the UK.
I offer online therapy as well as Face-to-face therapy in Stirling.

We will then have a free phone chat of about 20 minutes. We can discuss what brings you to therapy and which changes you hope therapy will bring about. Depending on the type and severity of issues you want to address, I will suggest that we agree on a block of six, ten or twenty weekly sessions. We will also agree on a weekly slot.
