I am a qualified and experienced counselling supervisor, working with both qualified counsellors and counsellors in training.

My aim as your supervisor is to foster a relationship where you as the supervisee are held, heard, supported and valued and feel able to deal with the demands and challenges of your role and deal with feelings of insecurity that may interfere with performance and in turn focus on ensuring consistency and maintenance of quality and professionalism.   

I aim to offer a 'place to play in the best sense and loosen knotted thinking and tangled emotions' (Henderson, Holloway and Millar, 2014) through a working alliance that is not built on a list of agreements or rules but on growing trust respect and goodwill. 

I work from my garden office at my home in Widnes. It is a safe and comfortable place for us to meet and work together, alternatively I can offer online sessions through Zoom or Telephone .

Hello, my name is Nicholas Lunt, I am a fully qualified, experienced counsellor and counselling supervisor I offer one 2 one counselling as well as clinical supervision.

Having a place where we can allow ourselves time and a calm space to talk, think and work things out can be priceless. Even so deciding to come to counselling takes courage and I completely understand that this may be a big step for you. Difficult times, bereavement, abuse, trauma, and abandonment can lead to depression, anger outbursts, and burn out, self-harm and other issues.

Sometimes we do not know what is wrong, but we just know something is not right.

The process of counselling can help you to find your voice, which may have been lost for a while and when heard again can make you feel stronger, more alive, at one with yourself, and more able to make choices that take you in the direction you want to be going.

I believe working with the person in the room is the key rather than working directly with the presenting issue. I tend not to work on specialisms but do have extensive experience of working with adults and young people with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, anger, bereavement and loss

I believe that change occurs because of the relationship that is created between client and therapist. I offer a free telephone consultation to enable you to communicate what you feel your needs are and decide if you feel we would be a 'good fit'.

To help you think about and talk about what you hope to get from counselling I will ask you what has brought you to counselling, I will also ask you to give thought to what you hope to get from counselling and how you will know you have got it.

This provides a road map and helps ensure the sessions are lead by you.
