About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified therapeutic counselling supervisor having qualified with a CPCAB l6 qualification in Supervision.
My core training is integrative however I see supervision as a collegial process and feel I work from a more person centred way with supervisee's.
I currently work in private practice working from a comfortable office in Wadebridge, I additionally have the use of an office in Bodmin.
I am able to work online if required or a combination of both online and face to face with this being subject to discussion and agreement. Home visits or office visits can be arranged subject to agreement.
Practice description
Whilst I see supervision from the perspective of the BACP ethical framework and good guidance, I see it mostly as a collegial process where the supervisee feels safe enough to review their and ask ethical questions of themselves.
The seven eyed model of supervision sits at the centre of my work and can bring a wider and more insightful understanding of the subtle nuances of relationship and context in which we work.
I have a particular interest in working with student counsellors to support them in their personal development by bringing an understanding of supervision and how to make best use of it.
Please feel free to get contact me for further information.

Me as an individual - I have worked within the military and emergency services to the age of 50 followed by study and work with adults with learning disabilities (I prefer difference). I am passionate about my work and about protecting and encouraging the individual ethical growth of supervisee's.
I named by practice gentle way as this is a direct translation of the word Judo which taught me about balance with this being present within my work. Whilst I have the capacity and resilience to work with difficult issues I am by nature a kind, honest, respectful individual who strongly believes in the development of a safe therapeutic relationship.
Whilst I take my work seriously I do not believe our work together has to always be about serious engagement as appropriate humour can also have it place.
I feel that clients and peers would best describe me as passionate yet easy going.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thank you for reading my profile.
I am a qualified Counsellor and Therapeutic counselling supervisor working in North Cornwall with an office in Wadebridge and Bodmin and also working nationally on line.
Are you struggling with everyday living due to anxiety, depression or generally feeling overwhelmed. Are you holding onto something that you feel is holding you back and you are looking for a safe space to explore and find ways to move forward or are you looking for what I feel we all look for and that is to be heard and to able to share your difficulties.
There are many reasons why you might be looking for counselling but my first aim remains the same with that being to provide you a safe therapeutic space in which to talk.
I provide a gentle and supportive environment and have chosen the name for my practice gentle way counselling to reflect this.
Gentle way is a direct translation of the word Judo which is where i learnt about physical balance and movement and how the smallest of movement can trigger so much more, I chose to bring this to my counselling work to reflect balance in my work and my life.
I am an Integrative Counsellor which in essence means I am able to draw and integrate on many counselling theories to meet the individual and changing needs and wants of the client.
I am a compassionate individual who strongly respects individual clients and feel that my life history and resilience balanced with an honest and empathic way of being can trigger insight and support growth.
I feel my greatest strength is my ability to provide a welcoming space and relationship.
Personal areas of interest are working with Veterans and Emergency services. I am passionate about working with student counsellors within the context of counselling or supervision and would welcome any enquiries from students.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss or ask questions.
