About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Helen and I work with Adults, Young People, Teenagers and Young Children. I have a therapy room in a private location, near Lavenham, Suffolk with free parking.
I offer Counselling / Psychotherapist and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as well as Clinical Supervision.
I have an Advanced Certificate Clinical Supervision including Online and Telephone Working (Level 6) which includes training received using 'The Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision' and an 'Integrative Developmental Model for Supervising Counsellors and Therapists' (IDM).
I work as an Integrative Counsellor, using my skills and knowledge tailoring these to the specific needs of each client .
I have experience working in many different environments, schools, charities / community agencies, private practice and within the NHS. I have worked as a Primary Mental Health Worker (PMHW) in NHS Wellbeing Service for Children and Young People. I have also worked as a School Counsellor. Currently I am working in private practice, for a community agency and within NHS IAPT Service (Adult Service).
I see my clients either face-to-face, online or by telephone. With young children, I work face-to-face only.
I work with neurodiverse clients (Autism, ADHD).
If you are looking for a Clinical Supervisor, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss further.
I am a registered Member of BACP (MBACP), Accredited Member of BABCP (Acc.) Accredited Member of National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society MNCPS (Acc.) and a member of the Association for Counsellors and Therapists Online (ACTO).
I am happy to give a free 20 mins video or telephone 'discovery call' for us to get to know each other and discuss your needs / requirements for supervision, please do email me to arrange.
I work with both qualified and trainee therapists.
My first session
Supervision sessions are usually booked for 90 mins. However each case is discussed on an individual basis, as for example, being a student it maybe that we have 45 mins or 1 x hour 'fortnightly' supervision, pro rata to your caseload size / training establishment and professional body requirements.
I like my supervisees to be able to get to know me and for me to get to know them and and initial telephone / video call is important for us both to see if I can help you and for you to decide if you would like to attend supervision with me. Choosing a supervisor is a personal experience and I wish supervisees to feel safe and comfortable to attend supervision with me, as this will help to facilitate a good professional relationship.
Once supervision has been agreed, a supervision contract would be discussed and shared ready for signing by both supervisee and supervisor. Also, if needed, any training establishment paperwork / contracts / reports would be discussed and an agreement is made regarding notice period for any report requests from supervisee's.
