I offer a space where you will have the opportunity to reflect professionally and personally. I aim for an environment where there is the potential for professional and personal growth.
It will be a space where you will feel comfortable to bring all of your clinical work - the work you are proud of and the work where you feel there has been a level of challenge and curiosity. My intention is to hold and encourage our relationship for you to feel comfortable and supported enough to grow your current skills, knowledge and experience. I will actively listen to how you engage with therapeutic interventions and personal processes in order to assist you in your work.
I observe and maintain the BACP Ethical framework and will use this as reference to working with you. By adhering to these professional standards you and your clients will be able to feel you/they are receiving the best possible and professional therapeutic support.
I am an integrative and compassionate practitioner. I appreciate individuals for who they are, as such I will support a supervisee’s therapeutic style whilst maintaining the professional boundaries of their training, qualifications and competency.

About me and my therapy practice
As an accredited member of the BACP I am an experienced counsellor with a belief that everyone is unique. Through using a wide range of counselling approaches, I am able to work with you in a way that is best for you as an individual. Our counselling relationship will be collaborative - you will bring the experience of being you and I will bring my experience and knowledge of counselling.
I will listen to you and aim to help you understand your situation with more clarity, in a professional, empathetic, compassionate and non-judgmental way.
I will work sensitively to help you explore the difficulties you are facing. Understanding these in more detail and sharing the impact they have on your life may help you to see the difficulties in a different way. We can work together to explore whatever aspects of your life you may wish to change or improve. Counselling can make a real difference to your life.
It may be that you are experiencing deep feelings of sadness, hopelessness with no motivation for the future.
You may be increasingly stressed and anxious, feeling that you are isolated and separate from all that is happening around you.
You may be struggling with irritability and anger, finding yourself being overly defensive or being hurtful towards others.
Counselling can help with all of these experiences, helping you to identify the causes and support you in overcoming them.
I will also use other methods to bring a holistic approach to our time together- taking into account your psychological, spiritual, physical, behavioral and emotional well being.
Practice description
I offer face to face sessions. I have also undertaken extensive online and telephone counselling training.
My first session
Our first session together will last just over an hour and it is an opportunity for us to find out if we would work well together. I take a different approach in this session as I will ask you a range of questions about your life, experiences and what is important to you. We will also discuss in more detail what it is that you feel you need to change in your life. I make notes in this session and by the end of it I will have a broad idea of what your life has been life and hopefully you will know if you like my approach. There is no obligation to have further sessions
