About me and my therapy practice
Supervision is not just an essential requirement to adhering to the BACP Code of Ethics. It is essential to the support, in practice, of the Practitioner; which is why it is an essential requirement for the BACP Code of Ethics.
It is essential for guidance, sharing, reflective practice, identifying our blind spots and, need I go on?
Supervisors, for all Practioners, are at the end of the phone for advice and guidance at all times, not just for the hour and a half per month manadatory.
I offer concessionary rates to students/trainees.
My first session
I offer an initial meeting free of charge to allow us both to decide if we can work together. It gives me the opportunity to introduce myself and how I work.
In turn you can introduce yourself and tell me how you work, in what sector and what you would like to gain from our sessions together. We can then agree how we will structure our sessions.
If you think we can work together then please contact me and we can arrange a first meeting.

About me and my therapy practice
I use an eclectic mix of Psychological theories mixing these with my lifelong learning, training and skills.
I am also a trained supervisor and offer this service to qualified and student/trainee counsellors.
Throughout my training I have undergone personal development, therefore I am very aware of that; first session getting to know the therapist situation. I seek to neutralise this process as much as possible to reduce the anxiety it can cause.
I specialise in relationships, with ourselves and others.
I've been a student, I know how expensive it can be, because of this I offer a discount to students for both personal counseling and supervision.
For some, therapy outside of the home is far too difficult therefore I offer home visits providing a suitable environment is available.
Practice description
Because everyone is an individual I work with an eclectic mix of theories tailored to meet individual need. This is known as an Integrative or holistic model.
In training to be a Counsellor it is a requirement to undergo our own individual therapy. Therefore I am very aware that one of the most important decisions, in choosing a therapist, is to be able to connect with them. I am also aware, having been on the other side of the room how difficult it can be to open up our lives, past and present, to a stranger. Reaching out for help at a difficult time in our lives, or to address issues in our early years that have never been resolved can be one of the hardest things we ever do. How do you open a conversation to address these issues? As a Counsellor, that is my job, to make you feel comfortable in sharing these issues, in order to resolve them. To support you in learning more about yourself and your emotions and how to work with them.
I aim to make you feel comfortable enough to be able to do this in a non judgemental, relaxed environment.
My first session
On our first session together I will get to know you and the issues you would like to address. You don't need to worry about what to say, that is my job. I will explain confidentiality, that all our conversations are confidential however there are circumstances in which I am legally bound to break it.
We will decide how we will work together to address the issues in your life and where they stemmed from.
Everyone brings their own individuality and their own individual issues and anxieties. If it's important to you it's not trivial and worth addressing.
If you think I may be able to support you at this time then please contact me by email or phone. I look forward to hearing from you.
