About me and my therapy practice
About me
My specialist areas in therapy are working with Trauma; domestic and sexual abuse, not limited to these types of issues I also work with other presenting issues helping you to make links and connections to behaviour, thoughts and emotion.
I have been in practice since 2016, my experience in counselling has been informed by my previous work in the health industry as a; holistic therapist, working in collaboration with the NHS and supporting people young and old with their therapeutic needs, such as providing counselling to children and adolescents, providing care for the elderly and as a support worker for those who have drug, alcohol and mental health issues.
Why might counselling be an option?
Do you feel shame, blame and or guilt?
Do you feel overwhelmed or underwhelmed and difficult to find the words to express your experience and feelings?
Do you need a space where you can be listened to, heard and validated?
Do you feel stuck, low in confidence or lacking in self-esteem?
How is counselling beneficial?
Talking to someone who is objective can eliminate judgement and biased responses. It is empowering when you begin to connect the dots and understand the reasons behind your thoughts, feelings and behaviours from within the context of your life and personal experiences.
How I can help.
There is no right or wrong to counselling and that is because of the individuality and uniqueness of our personal experience and sense of self.
My role is to support you through your narrative and whenever necessary use aids and techniques to help you explore further, any areas where you might have difficulties gaining insights.
Practice description
I work online and offer limited face to face sessions. I practice from a location which is 10 minutes walk from London Bridge and 5 minutes walk from Borough station. I also work face to face in Clapham North.
I am in partnership with the Bexceptional foundation and Cara based in Essex. Please visit www.bexceptionalfoundation.com to see if you could be eligible for funding for up to 10 sessions.
My first session
Our first session is an initial assessment where I gather information from you and conduct a risk assessment. You are invited to ask me any questions and at this stage we will decide if we can work together. Once agreed a confidentiality agreement is given outlining the guidelines of the counselling sessions and an appointment will be made for the earliest possible meeting that suits counsellor and therapist.
