About me and my therapy practice
My supervision training was integrative and i work with supervisees in an open and balanced way ensuring that it is a safe space for a practitioner to be able to reflect on their work. I think of supervision as a collaborative process between supervisor and supervisee where we can both learn and move forward in our practice.
I have over 15 years experience of being a counsellor and have gained experience of working with adults & couples in this time with a wide range of diverse presenting issues.

About me and my therapy practice
My name is Jonathan. I am a qualified and experienced Person-Centred Counsellor with training in CBT. I offer integrative counselling tailored to your specific requirements and have over 18 years’ experience of working with both adults and young people. Deciding you would like to talk to someone about your thoughts, feelings and behaviour is a courageous decision. I aim to provide a safe and warm environment, where you can speak freely without fear of judgement.
I offer Coaching and support ADHD adults (no formal diagnosis needed) for personal and professional development, including emotional regulation, organisation, confidence, motivation, relationships, rejection sensitivity dysphoria, self esteem and acceptance. Having lived experience of ADHD myself, I am well versed around the life struggles this can bring to oneself.
So often in our lives we reach a place where we are struggling in some capacity or another. It may be a deep rooted issue that goes back to childhood, neurodiversity, past relationship, trauma. mental health or the impact of CVD-19. Whatever the issue I believe counselling and coaching can help can help.
Having a place where you can allow yourself time and a calm space to think, talk and work things out with a skilled helper can be a very powerful and useful experience. Being able to unlock past experiences or possibly something you haven't been able to share with anyone and realise how it is affecting you can all be explored in the sessions.
Practice description
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) . I am bound by its Ethical Framework for the counselling profession and subject to BACP professional conduct procedure.
I have over 20 years’ experience of working and managing services for various charities and voluntary organisations. These have included both young people and adults’ services which have included Substance Misuse, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities.
I have had my own personal struggles so I am aware how difficult it can be to both feel you need help and even more so to ask for it. I can offer support to help you explore these difficulties that you are experiencing and help you to find a way forward.
My first session
It is important that you feel comfortable with the therapist you choose to work with. I offer a free initial telephone conversation where i will go through an assessment for your reasons in wanting to access counselling and to get an understanding of what you want to achieve through counselling in the longer term. You are under no obligation after the initial telephone call to book any sessions if you feel counselling isn't for you, or you feel another counsellor would be better suited to your needs. You can ask any questions, worries or concerns that you may have. If you decide counselling is for you the first session will include going through the counselling agreement. This is a mutual agreement negotiated between us prior to the commencement of counselling. It articulates the responsibilities of the counsellor towards the client, also the clients responsibilities in the counselling relationship.
