About me and my therapy practice
“A sacred space is a stable frame or boundary to facilitate transformation within liminal experiences”
I aim to facilitate psychotherapy as a liminal space encouraging exploration of what we experience “in-between” the spaces and experiences of Mind, Body and Spirit and the transitional possibilities of transformation.
This could be exploring our stuckness, conflicts, pressures, relationships and the unknown.
I focus on gaining inner sight (Al-basirah) through revelation (Iqra- seeking knowledge) and seek deeper understanding of self (Al marifat un nafs), seek meaningful purpose of our transitions and challenges “being Alaq” (a created life force with meaning and purpose).
Through the facilitation of “mirrors” (self reflections through others/events) the development of self awareness (Al-muhasabah) and facilitation of consciousness with our soul and Creator (Al muraqabah) is brought about through self reflection, relationship, support, time and integration of spiritual practices such as dua, dhikr, tadabbur, tawbah, taffakur.
This is the practice of Tazkiyat-un-nafs with guidance (furqan/shariat) and deep reflection with revelation (tadabbur) mindful and purposefully striving (al mujahadah) to emulate the prophets manhage (method).
