About me and my therapy practice
I am a person-centred therapist and supervisor and specialise in working with GSRD supervisees and their clients and newly qualified therapists looking to start their own private practice. About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Nick and I am a queer-identifying non-binary Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
Making the choice to seek out counselling can be a hard step in its own right, having to then find a counsellor you feel safe with when going through some of your most difficult moments can be very daunting.
My way of working is typically non-directive, offering you a confidential safe space that is non-judgmental and anti-oppressive allowing you to work through whatever is troubling you. With the person-centred approach, the counsellor is not considered to be the expert who can “fix” you but rather it is the individual that has the ability to work towards resolving their own issues when given the support of genuine acceptance and empathic understanding which comes from the working relationship between client and counsellor.
I work with adults on a wide range of issues surrounding identity, gender, sexuality, relationship diversity, (GSRD), self-worth and self-esteem, stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, work and workplace stress.
Your reasons for seeking counselling can be well known to you but sometimes it can be as vague as knowing something feels wrong but not knowing what or why. Talking about these feelings can help bring them into focus and enable us to work together through these difficult times.
In our first session together, we will have the opportunity to get to know one another and it will give you an idea of what working with me as a counsellor will be like and if it is right for you.
I am LGBTQIA+, kink and neurodiverse friendly and my pronouns are he/him.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Nick
