About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced BACP Accredited Integrative Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor offering Supervision to Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Support Workers. I have been trained to Post Graduate Certificate level in Relational Supervision and I also hold an established, busy, current private practice. My previous experience covers counselling in the NHS (IAPT) and various organisations/charities.
I believe that if we can form and experience a strong, supportive and authentic supervisory relationship with our Supervisor, then we have a solid and holding place to do the work of supervision and help us with our practice, whether that is in an organisational setting, NHS, privately or a mix of both.
I believe a good supervisory relationship can make all the difference and I hope to offer you the possibility of this type of relationship and help you to explore the difficulties, experiences and dilemmas that can arise in psychological work. Bringing these issues to a supportive, supervisory space, where we can explore them and hopefully offer a fresh perspective or insight, as well as support competent, ethically informed good practice is my aim.
Therapeutic work can be enjoyable and interesting but also personally taxing/complex and it can throw up many challenges, difficulties and questions. I hope to help you enhance your practice by offering you a down to earth, non-shaming environment where, with time, you will be able to trust and bring those difficult things, as well as what has gone well. We are all just human beings after all and we are not perfect and you don’t have to be perfect in supervision! In fact, I believe the best work happens when we bring what we consider to be the imperfect bits of ourselves or our work.
If you would like to explore working together, please make contact to arrange a free 15 minute call to discuss working together and then we can book in an initial session to see if we feel we are a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.

Need some safe, non-judgemental, reflective space to talk? Maybe I can help.
I’m Nikki, an experienced, compassionate and down to earth Integrative Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor working with adults 18 plus. I offer face to face and online counselling.
I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) with a Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling plus Post Graduate Certificates in both Additions Psychology and Clinical Supervision. I have also undertaken post qualification training and development in areas of special interest to enable me to offer my clients ethical, knowledgeable and safe practice.
Particular areas I work with are anxiety, depression and low mood; low self-esteem and lack of confidence, the “I don’t know what’s wrong - I should be happy but I’m not” feeling, affairs, separation, divorce, relationship problems including with family and friends; bullying; life changes, loss, betrayal, bereavement, life changing illness; boarding school experiences; trauma, domestic abuse/coercive and controlling relationships, rape (male and female) and sexual violence; pre-trail therapy, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, addictions/problematic using of substances and behaviours, eating disorders/difficulties and working with counselling students. My work is trauma informed and I have undertaken specific training in working with trauma.
I have worked in different settings in the past including the NHS as a Talking Therapies Counsellor, charities, probation and a sixth form college. I work with wide variety of client issues but because we are all different, please do get in touch with me to discuss what is troubling you. I offer an initial free 15 minute telephone consultation where you can get an idea of what it would be like to work with me and I can check I am the right person to help you.
Please read on to hear more about me and my practice below.
Practice description
I work from a warm, quiet and comfortable, ground floor therapy room with sea view and toilet facilities in West Dorset. I also work online using Zoom.
I believe counselling works. It offers an important investment in ourselves and I believe that the relationship we have with ourselves is the most important one – it is also often the one that is the most overlooked! It takes commitment and hard work but I have seen counselling change lives. I can’t promise that the journey will always be easy because it involves talking about thoughts, feelings and experiences but I will be with you on that journey to encourage you, support you and ensure your emotional safety. I am gentle and compassionate but I will challenge my clients if I think it is therapeutically necessary.
I hope you decide to take the first step and get in touch.
