About me and my therapy practice
With a Postgraduate Diploma and an MEd in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Cambridge University, along with a Diploma in Supervision from Terapia, I provide supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists, and mental health professionals working with young people aged 5-25 and their parents/carers. I enjoy collaborating with my supervisees in a creative and dynamic way, exploring new perspectives on their clients’ worlds and deepening their understanding of therapeutic relationships.
Practice description
I bring a wealth of experience from diverse areas of counselling with children and young people, including roles in both state and independent schools, as well as working with Cambridgeshire children's charities like Blue Smile and The Cambridge Acorn Project. Additionally, I have consulted for larger organisations on mental health and wellbeing, providing a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities within this field. This breadth of experience enriches my supervision practice, offering supervisees a grounded and multifaceted understanding of working with young people.
Bringing creative tools, somatic approaches, and the power of metaphors and analogies into supervision can unlock fresh perspectives on clients, revealing deeper insights into what they truly need from their therapist to find emotional balance. I see supervision as an inspiring process—one that sparks curiosity, builds expertise, and energises the therapeutic work we do.
My first session
In our first supervision session, we’ll take the time to establish a strong foundation for our work together. This session focuses on understanding your professional background, your supervision needs, and your goals for our sessions. It’s also an opportunity for us to explore your preferred supervision style, discuss any challenges you’re currently facing, and identify how I can best support you in your role.
During this initial meeting, we’ll also review practical details, including confidentiality, frequency of sessions, and any specific requirements you have for supervision. If helpful, I can provide a short reflective exercise before the session to help you clarify your expectations and areas of focus.
I do not offer a different rate for the first session, but I ensure that it provides ample time and space for us to build a comfortable and collaborative working relationship. If you are transitioning from a previous supervisor, we can discuss how to make this a seamless process.
The first session is about creating a safe, open, and supportive environment that enables you to feel confident in our work together, ensuring our supervision is meaningful and tailored to your professional journey.
