About me and my therapy practice

I offer a safe and confidential space to help you grow as a therapist. My ethos is to put you the supervisee at the heart of the supervisory relationship using a mainly person-centred and psychodynamic approach whilst building a trusting therapeutic relationship.

I have been supervising counsellors on placement with the children's mental health charity Place2Be since 2017 and bereavement volunteers for the national charity Cruse Bereavement Support since 2019.

My model of supervision is based on Hawkins and Shohet's 'Seven-eyed model of supervision' which offers a comprehensive view of supporting people within the helping professions, including counselling.

I have recently completed my level 6 diploma in clinical supervision with Place2Be, which is accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).

As I'm newly qualified I will be offering a reduced price for a limited time only.

About me and my therapy practice

My counselling practice is integrative which means that I combine several modalities or theories of counselling including person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural therapy. For younger clients, but not exclusively, I use play therapy and working with metaphor to explore meaning behind a child's difficulties.

I have worked in private practice as a counsellor since 2015 working with adults, children and young people.

I currently work in two local schools managing and delivering a counselling and wellbeing service to children and young people. This includes children who present as neurodiverse (e.g. ADHD/ADD and autism).

Other roles including working for the national bereavement charity Cruse Bereavement Support as a supervisor to a group of bereavement volunteers.

I have a particular interest in bereavement and loss, attachment theory and neurodiversity.

Practice description

I offer a friendly and confidential one-to-one counselling service supporting adults and young people with bereavement and loss, anxiety, depression, stress and relationship issues; including physical and emotional abuse.

The aim of my service is to listen and understand you, help you to address your problems and enable you to lead a more fulfilled life.

I will not judge you and I will be honest and empathic with you at all times.

Sessions last for 50mins (one therapeutic hour) and currently take place in-person at my home in Waterloo near Liverpool. I can also deliver counselling  sessions online via the platform Zoom.

I offer a free 20-30min. phone or on-line consultation prior to any counselling work, if required.

Please contact me either via mobile or email to enquire further about my service or to book an initial assessment.

For clients visiting by public transport, I am 15mins walk from Waterloo Merseyrail station and the number 53 bus to and from Crosby stops 5mins walk from my home.

My first session

The first session will run slightly longer than follow-on sessions as I carry out an assessment of the client's needs and aims from coming to counselling and how we will work together over the following sessions. This generally lasts approximately 60-75mins.

The assessment includes completing a short questionnaire, contracting and getting to know you, why you are coming to counselling now and what you would like to get from our sessions together.
