About me and my therapy practice
As a Registered Accredited Counsellor and qualified Supervisor, I have 16 years of full-time counselling experience gained in a number of settings; Private Practice, Further & Higher Education and EAP’s. I have supervised individuals, qualified and trainee Counsellors and Supervisors.
Supervision is an integral part of my work as a Counsellor and as your Supervisor I will provide supervision for the reflection and consideration of the counselling process with your clients and issues related to that work, ensuring a supportive, safe and ethical environment for you to explore and clarify thinking and feeling which underlie practice. To ensure clients best interests are protected, I will highlight unethical concerns/practice or blocks and help you to manage risk. To foster a climate of mutual respect, empathic understanding and honesty where we can explore and clarify our hopes, fears and expectations concerning our working relationship.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello Thank you for taking time to look at my profile.
I have over 20 years of experience in private practice, and have developed my practice based in central Grimsby, where I have a comfortable and private space, with accessible parking. I am accredited and registered with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I work with private clients and accept referrals from GPs, Employer Assistant Programmes (EAPs) and local organisations. I have developed and delivered training for Rape crisis, the Criminal Prosecution Service (CPS) and delivered workshops on trauma in the workplace. I lectured in counselling for both University Centre Grimsby and part time as a senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University for over eight years.
I believe that before coming to counselling, most people have tried their very best to address their difficulties. The reason you might seek further support in counselling is because the strategies you have been using are no longer working for you.
My ultimate goal as a counsellor is to help empower my clients to improve their lives by making manageable but meaningful changes throughout the therapeutic process helping reconcile their pasts in order to live more fully in the present.
My aim is to help you explore thoughts/beliefs and behavioural patterns that are sustaining your difficulties. Through exploring your relationship with yourself and others I aim to help you understand how previous life events can influence your way of being, through processing difficult experiences that are intruding in your present moment.
