I currently have spaces to offer supervision
About me and my therapy practice
I have been a qualified client centred supervisor working in Hampshire since 2004
I have a varied supervision practise which includes counsellors in training/ qualified counsellors/ qualified supervisors plus community project workers / managers and NHS nursing practitioners.
Areas where my current supervisees work include Universities, Sixth Form Colleges, Substance Misuse services and Cancer Support organisations
Areas where I have supervised include GP Primary Care, Mental Health, Forensic Mental Health, Trauma, including Sexual Trauma.
All my supervisee relationships are built collaboratively. I do not stand in judgement of supervisees clinical work but rather in support and growth of it through challenge and reflective exploration. Supervisees personal development is also a focus in supervision as primarily their delivered relational work is rooted in their practitioner congruence.
I consider The BACP ethical framework to be a working document, which I utilise in my supervisory work in order to cross reference ethics for exploration and /consideration and to integrate into practice delivery through rationale. I am committed to facilitating in my supervisees a confidence in their own sense/ knowledge of an internal supervisor.
Practice description
I work face to face out of my semi-rural office near to Chandlers Ford/ Eastleigh / Winchester and Romsey. There is parking on site.
I believe Supervision is an activity that requires commitment and dedication. It is an investment in our development as practitioners and as people and in the development and efficacy and quality of our clients experience of us and the therapy we deliver. Because of this and because I believe being in human contact with each other, face to face, allows potential for us to build a deep trusting qualitative relationship where areas of great difficulty can be explored, us meeting face to face is my primary way of working.
I do offer online sessions via Zoom as well as telephone appointments, however I do not offer exclusive remote supervisory relationships.
I work on a one -one/ couples/small group basis max 4 practitioners
Session fees are a sliding scale from £40-£45-£ 50 ph ( depending on practitioner experience)
Sessions are offered 4 weekly or by client / case number
My first session
First sessions allow supervisees to experience my way of working and allows us to make a decision about wether we feel we would be a good fit and wether I am the right supervisor for your work. Expectations / challenges and practicalities will also be discussed.
If we both decide we would like to go ahead We will contract the boundaries of the relationship and agree fees and times.

About me and my therapy practice
Life is tough, with situations we never believed we would find ourselves in and despite all our best efforts we can end up confused about what to do for the best. The longer our confusion continues the worse we feel about our lives and our ability to make positive decisions and make lasting changes . Its a downward spiral that can make us say and do things we regret but we have no idea how to change it all and take back control . We look to others for guidance because inside we feel powerless and can’t trust our own judgement and we have lost our inner sense of peace and happiness.
How can talking help ?
Well counselling is a chance for you to explore, evaluate and understand what has happened or is happening in your life in an atmosphere of non judgement and care. This then allows you to understand the origins and the trajectory of how you got to where you are right now . This in turn helps to reduce or resolve primary anxiety, pain or confusion. Once confusion has lessoned you can begin to make any necessary changes, based upon what you feel is best for you. Your choices can also begin to feel more informed rather than reactionary.
From the onset of our relationship I am placing my trust in your ability to know what is best for you , even though it may be alluding you to begin with. My job is to help you get in touch with this trusting part of yourself as it is this that allows you to take back control of your life and find inner confidence.
I have been counselling for over 20 years and have extensive experience helping people understand and heal from the pain they find themselves in ; whether this is due to trauma, mental health challenges or other life experiences, like loss.
I am so impassioned about the benefits of counselling that I have also set up and run 3 community counselling services and managed a bereavement counselling service.
If you’d like to know more about how I work and how it may benefit you, please do get in touch .

My first session
Counselling is a relationship built upon trust and so you must feel you can trust me in order that you can explore things that are concerning you. This can then allow you to get the most out of counselling.
We will spend 50 minutes together so that you can experience how a counselling session feels and this will help you make an informed decision about moving forward . I am not in the business of hard sell and so it is really important that you trust your experience of me in this session.
If you do decide that you would like to go ahead with further sessions then we can agree our times going forward. I usually suggest a block of 6 sessions to begin with. Days and times can be flexibly agreed between us and the choice to extend the sessions beyond 6 is yours
