About me and my therapy practice

I have many years experience as a therapist and qualified clinical supervisor. I love to work collaboratively with other practitioners. 

My core training is in Integrative Humanistic approaches.  I am trauma informed and work in a dynamic adaptable way.  

Many years working in the NHS has also meant i have incorporated Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused approaches to my way of working. 

I am experienced in working within systems and understand a great deal about the dynamics of large organisations. 

My practice is extensive.  I have worked with clients within charity settings, the NHS and Private practice. I have managed a number of counselling services and i find working with and supporting other professionals particularly rewarding. 

My client groups have been diverse and my particular specialties have been; sexual violence and domestic abuse, fertility and pregnancy issues, Ill health diagnosis, critical incidents and trauma, and occupational/work based stress. I am also an accredited sight loss counsellor. 

Practice description

I offer integrative clinical supervision on a monthly bases or on an agreed timeframe as required. 

I offer supervision to qualified counsellors/psychotherapist and to trainees either face to face or online. 

I offer reflective practice to professional in healthcare on a one to one basis or in group settings. This can be face to face or online. 

I offer reflective practice to senior professionals within organisaional settings on a one to one basis or in groups.

About me and my therapy practice

We can all struggle at times as life brings many challenges. It may be that you are feeling overwhelmed by a specific issue or concern, that you are not feeling yourself, that you don’t feel you are living the life you want to be living, you may have a long-term health condition or, it may be that you want to understand yourself better.

People come to therapy for many different reasons, all the reasons are valid, and you deserve the opportunity to experience effective and beneficial therapy with a therapist you feel you can connect with.

As an Integrative therapist and qualified clinical supervisor I work using a combination of approaches, tailored to you as an individual, to support you to work towards your desired outcomes. My aim is to provide an opportunity to explore the issues troubling you, to help you feel more empowered and in control, to find strategies for positive change and for you to move towards the life that you want.

I offer short and longer-term psychotherapeutic counselling and short-term solution focused interventions.

I also offer clinical supervision to qualified and student counsellors, and Reflective Practice for professional working groups. 

My first session

During our first session we can get to know one another and discuss your hopes and aims for therapy.  In this first session there will be a small amount of paperwork for us to complete including essential information such as medical and background information.   We will discuss confidentiality and boundaries and make a plan for how to move forward if you are happy to work together.
