About me and my therapy practice
I have worked in the NHS and Public health for many years specialising in addiction and health improvement and now work in private practice. I supervise counsellors and also volunteers in local York charities. I have a diploma in Supervision from Therapy and Counselling Training Teesside
I work from a person centered approach integrating other theories of counselling as appropriate . I am comfortable working with spirituality and existential issues.
I have a graduate diploma in Counselling from York St John 2002 and a diploma in Supervision 2017. I was also a registered nurse and have a B.A. Hons Degree in English and Philosophy.
My first session
I offer an initial free phone conversation to arrange the practicalities of meeting times and suitability of the relational style of Supervision which I provide. All arranged meetings in person are then payable. I offer an initial hours session in which we agree a supervision contract before the Counsellor sees any clients.

In my first session I will ask a number of questions to gain a picture of your physical emotional and mental health and there will be time to look at what you are looking forward to achieving from Counselling.
