About me and my therapy practice
I hold a deep respect for all supportive relationships and ways you choose to express yourself within them.
I aim to open and hold a reflective, restorative space, to bring attention and depth to our working relationship, the context you live and work within and to recognize and enable the potency of collaboration to emerge.
I completed post-grad training as a supervisor in 2009. My counselling experience has been gained within all sectors of education, within mental health, end of life care, eating disorders and via EAPs. The majority of my current work is in private practice.
I have energy and commitment to a range of connections in the therapeutic world, the fruits of which I will bring to our work. I feel secure on a path of development personally and professionally. Meditation, retreats, personal therapy, encounter groups and creative writing all contribute.

Practice description
It is my intention to offer an emotionally sensitive, restorative and collaborative space in which you can bring and explore all things associated with either your professional role or being or becoming a counsellor.
This supportive space is also open for personal reflective and reflexive considerations, a chance to explore what supports or impacts you from your own personal circumstances. A space then, that straddles the personal and professional, acknowledging that both of these inform your decisions and ways of being.
Ways in which you choose to process can be varied. It can include bringing an agenda or notes, be expressed via music or poetry, or moved into intuitively. This is a space to process and can take many forms. If we choose expressive means it may be helpful to know in advance so that we can take care to have what we need.
I welcome you risking moving into the not-knowing and potentially vulnerable places. Moving into and finding ways to articulate the way in which life shapes us supports a growing authenticity, ultimately contributing to competence and confidence.
As well as utilising the restorative space, we can bring in discursive elements, move into contextualising, sharing experience where helpful and engage in ethical considerations.
In all our encounters, I will be sensitive to what we find and open to my own learning.

About me and my therapy practice
"The human body at peace with itself is more precious than the rarest gem." (Tsongkhapa, 14th centuryTibetan Buddhist teacher)
If you are finding it hard to work your way through a difficult experience, or struggle to understand your part in painful or repeating experiences, if friends or family are not as available in ways you would wish then maybe counselling can help.
A counselling relationship with me offers you opportunity to gain awareness and understanding, the freedom to choose afresh if need be and to increase confidence in your decision making. I strive to always be authentic, to bring kindness and to leave judgment aside.

I've been offering counselling for almost 20 years and understand the courage it can take to book and open up to someone you don't know. I deeply value vulnerability, have learnt a lot from my own and know how to be tender and kind around it.
I aim to understand you, to be alongside you as you explore the aspects of life and experience that may be contributing to your situation. A few of the many issues people bring include anxiety, depression, loss and grief, stress, anger, relationship issues as well as the impact that changes can bring, such as loss of confidence.
You get to work at your own pace, set your own agenda and to be heard without judgment - I aim to accept all of you, including parts you're not proud of, that might cause you shame or pain or fear.
I have a steady personal practice in mindfulness, a creative approach to life and a strong connection to process and creative writing. We can use expressive materials if this speaks to you.
To keep my practice alive I attend and enjoy a variety of workshops, have a daily meditation practice, utilise personal therapy and participate in retreats. I also offer supervision and reflective practice to counsellors and professionals and facilitate Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purpose workshops.
