About me and my therapy practice
I feel supervision should always be a collaborative relationship wherein we work together on the client’s behalf. Along this journey we should feel safe to express and explore, without the fear of judgement. I wish to facilitate a very safe environment which aims to help develop your work so that you may help the client to continually develop.
- How can I best support you as you support your client load?
This is my primary starting point for all sessions. In supporting you to do this, I want to help you develop as a practitioner.
I and trained and work psychodynamically in my private practice and therefore supervise largely from this theoretical stance. With this in mind I am trained as a supervisor using the seven-eyed model of supervision underpinned by the I.D.M (Integrative development model), albeit from a psychodynamic way of thinking.
I have been in and developed a successful full time private practice since 2016. Prior to this I also tutored on a psychodynamic training course at clinical level. Within my private practice I have had an opportunity to experience a wide array of presenting issues in adults which I feel has tested me and hence helped me to develop as a professional.
Please feel free to contact me. I offer a free video/telephone call so that we may get a sense of each other and to see if we may be compatible to work together.

About me and my therapy practice
My name is Jason and I am a fully qualified and BACP accredited counsellor with a wide range of experience, counselling a diverse array of issues. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, a body that sets high standards for the profession.I work with individuals and couples in a private and confidential setting at my own private practice in Ongar, in Colchester, and internationally online.
I am an experienced counsellor working competently with a range of difficulties that may hinder life being okay. I have worked as an honorary psychotherapist within the Essex Partnership University NHS Trust (EPUT), where I worked with people with severe and enduring ill mental health.
As a member of the B.A.C.P, I attend regular clinical supervision to ensure that ethical and good practice is maintained. Supervision is a confidential process that is vital for therapists to practise ethically. Your confidentiality is protected at all times.
As well as being a therapist have also been a counselling tutor, teaching adults in their final clinical year or training whom themselves wish to become counsellors. This also ensures that I remain highly active in exploring theoretical models and concepts which further deepens my understanding of the counselling process. I am also committed to continue personal development of which the above plays a part, however, I regularly attend workshops to further my own knowledge to enable me to better support my clients.
I am approachable and offer support in helping you back to a life you deserve and one, in which, you feel better about you.
Practice description
My practice in Ongar is very private and easily accessible in a residential area where free parking should be accessible.
In Colchester, there are two car parks within a ten minute walk to the practice.
My first session
The first session can often feel a little overwhelming which I fully understand. This initial session allows you to get a sense of counselling and a sense of whether I am the right counsellor for you.
In the session I aim to get a sense of the relationships you have been in or are currently in and a sense of your childhood.
\We then gently explore what brings you to counselling. This moves at your pace. Nothing is expected of you that you do not feel able to share.
