About me and my therapy practice
Finding the right person to work with as a supervisor is crucial. I have over 30-years experience of working in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. I work with a mixed tool box of skills and always work with the supervisee to agree what is most helpful to them. I have a varied work career so can explore with each supervisee what will be most usefu to them
My core training was integrative and since that time I have built up a wealth of Continuous Professional Development which is at my disposal.
Over the past decade I have become especially interested in Trauma and the therapies which may help individuals to manage the impact of traumatic events. I have undertaken training in both CBT based Trauma Therapy and Somatic Based Trauma Therapy. I am also a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy practitioner and am happy to deliver this particular service to individuals or groups.
My practice is a mixed delivery of on-line and face-to-face work, whichever is mutually convenient
Practice description
As previously mentioned I can be flexible with the interventions I use so that the supervisee, and thus the client, always remains at the centre of any intervention. The most important thing when working with anyone seeking help is that they feel safe and secure in the process – that is my number 1 priority!
Over the years I have developed my practice to be able to recognise subtle changes which indicate stress/distress and will actively manage the sessions to ensure all are kept with boundaries which allow the client to gain the best experience of therapy.
I currently offer supervision to both indidivuals and groups on a private and organisation based contract
My first session
The first session is very much a ‘finding our feet’ journey. I will try to gain a good overview of what the supervisee or group are looking for and how they will know when it has been successful.

About me and my therapy practice
Finding the right person to work with when we are struggling to manage is essential. I have over 30-years experience of working in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. I work with a mixed tool box of skills and always work with the client to agree what is most helpful to them.

Increasingly, I place, at the centre of my practice, the importance of understanding emerging neuroscience and the impact on the management of my emotions and ability to regulate ourselves.
My practice is delivered in a mixed way, with some clients working on -line and others face to face from a base in Leaf Health Hitchin
