About me and my therapy practice
EMDR Therapist. Extensive experience in working with PTSD and Complex PTSD resulting from traumatic events or childhood experiences. Exploring childhood family dynamics and experiences that have shaped your thoughts, perceptions and behaviors in the here and now. I support clients to learn new coping mechanisms to regulate in the here and now, to learn to calm the nervous system so you can feel more in control on a day to day basis. The ability to regulate allows us to then process traumatic experiences safely giving the client autonomy and choice in how they work in the sessions and building trust in self. I have extensive experience in working with sexual abuse experienced by clients in both childhood and adulthood. Working with clients with a range of mental health conditions, offering support and space to explore how the past is impacting the here and now. Using a person centered approach, integrating EMDR to help support clients to process trauma which is impacting how you are functioning in you lives today. I have worked in a generic counselling setting for many years as a clinical lead, this has given me a wealth of experience in a range of areas such as mental Health issues, Childhood Trauma, Relationship Difficulties, Low self Esteem, Self harm, Eating Disorders, Stress and Anxiety, domestic violence, anger and addiction to mention a few. I work with young people 16 + and adults in both short term and long term counselling.Providing a safe and confidential environment in which to explore some of your issues and untangle your thoughts and feelings. Supporting you without the feeling of being judged allows you to work through the difficulties and find a way to move forward. I offer long/short term counselling to suit your needs. I also offer reduced fees to clients that met criteria to qualify.

Our first session will be a chance for me to get to know a little about you and what has brought you to counselling, and how therapy can help. I will take down some personal information and we will decide together how we can work moving forward. We will discuss what you would like to gain from coming to therapy and how we can achieve this moving forward together.
