9.00am morning session. An invigilated home-based assessment providing an entry route for members wishing to join the BACP Register. The computer-based, multiple choice assessment uses case studies of practice situations to assess the skills, knowledge and abilities required to be a counsellor or psychotherapist. It takes about two hours to complete the assessment.

1.45pm afternoon session. Additional support sessions are only for those candidates who are requesting reasonable adjustments which may mean that they need additional time and/or support in completing the assessment. An invigilated online assessment providing an entry route for members wishing to join the BACP Register. The computer-based, multiple choice assessment uses case studies of practice situations to assess the skills, knowledge and abilities required to be a professional counsellor or psychotherapist. It takes about three hours to complete the assessment.
