About me and my therapy practice
My name is Mandy and I am an Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor registered with The BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), BAATN (Black, African and Asian Therapy Network), NCPS (The National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) and The NFS (National Fertility Society).
I offer a confidential service in a safe and calm space for you to work through any experiences and feelings which bring you to counselling. I’m able to offer online, telephone or face to face sessions.
Counselling is a personal journey to explore your needs, I will walk alongside you whilst you explore what brings you to counselling. I work through a non-judgemental, warm, accepting, authentic therapeutic relationship with you.
I have over 20 years’ experience of working with children and young adults in the care system whilst navigating through early childhood trauma, neglect and attachment difficulties that can play through into adulthood.
I have experience with clients bringing a variety of difficulties: depression, anxiety, loss and bereavement, post-traumatic stress, cultural stress and transition, relationship struggles, sexuality, the impact of trauma and abuse, sexual abuse and other forms of childhood abuse.
I am also a registered Fertility Counsellor with The National Fertility Society. I offer independent Implications counselling which can help explore feelings around treatment options, success and failed treatments. I also have completed the Donor Conceived Children’s Counselling training.
Recent projects I have been working with include, The West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership which is centred on engaging anyone of any age and connect them to an exit pathway from gangs, violence and county lines offering trauma informed therapeutic support as part of overall package. Local Domestic Violence Refuges offering tailored crisis support to children and young people affected by domestic violence.

Practice description
I offer supervisees a safe, supportive, reflective space to think, reflect and process client work whilst been heard and learning along your reflective journey. I use the Seven Eyed Model of Supervision. I regard supervision as our profession's unique, essential reflective space, a space in which to collaborate, relate, think, be vulnerable, feel supported, learn and grow. In supervision we work with/look at professional development, ethical and legal compliance, ethical dilemmas, contracting, developing their practices and CPD. Supervision offers a reflective space to explore the therapeutic process, to discuss working practices and feel supported.
