I offer online (via zoom) and telephone counselling. I work Monday to Thursday and can offer evening slots on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling lost, stuck, or like you're wandering aimlessly through life with no idea what to do next? The fact that you're reading this right now means you've reached a really pivotal point in your life, but you just need that person to walk alongside you over the lumpy bumpy bits life gives us.
Are you looking for that safe, non-judgmental person who gives you that space to help you find the way to a better, more manageable path?
I believe that with the right support - and with a collaborative and open mind you can achieve this.
I've worked with people from all different backgrounds and with many different kinds of concerns, from low self-esteem, anxiety and depression to help with navigating unexpected health issues.
I also volunteer as a Samaritan so I've had extensive training in a lot of issues which are only lightly touched upon in standard counselling training.
Practice description
I believe everyone should have access to counselling – regardless of ability, age, income or class. I don’t just listen to what you say – I hear you! Counselling is also about hearing what you don’t say by using empathy to really try and understand you.
As Alfred Adler (who founded individual psychology) put it: ‘Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another.’
I offer sessions by telephone and online using Zoom. This is because online counselling works very well for many clients. Reasons for this include:
You can have your counselling sessions from the comfort of your home, which means you avoid having to pay for any commute, parking or other travel costs.
It can be more flexible- I offer daytime and evening slots.
You can have your camera on or off - which can make it easier for people who feel more self-conscious around others.
My first session
The first session will be an initial assessment. I’ll ask you some questions which will give me a better idea of what you’d like to work on, how we might achieve any goals and how many sessions you may need.

About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling lost? Stuck? Or do you feel like everyone else has got their life under control while you’re trapped in a maze with no idea how to find the way out?
The last few years have been some of the toughest we’ve ever experienced. We’ve lost loved ones, jobs and friendships which have left us feeling disconnected from others and ourselves.
You’ve already taken the first step toward changing things by looking for counselling and I’d love to help you – so how does counselling work?
Have you ever watched a guide dog leading someone with little or no sight through a crowd? Putting their trust entirely in the dog – the owner asks them to find the way – and together they navigate the obstacles in their path until they reach a clearer, more manageable place.
This is very similar to counselling.
You’ll be the pilot and I’ll be the navigator.
I’ll be with you every step of the way as we explore those paths that seem so rough and tough at the moment.
Using compassion, openness and without judgment, I’ll be your guide and together we’ll find the way.

I trained as an integrative psychotherapist at the University of South Wales. This means I've studied a variety of therapies and we'll work together to find out which approach will be best for your concern. I've volunteered as a counsellor for a charity which helps people with varying degrees of sight loss and blindness and I found this really inspiring and rewarding. When I'm not working I love playing the bass - so being able to work creatively in my practise is something I feel really passionate about (although I am not trained as a music therapist) I'll often use metaphors to describe how our thoughts and feelings affect our daily lives. I really love working with trainee counsellors as it's wonderful to be part of their journey and I recognise the significant impact training can have in all aspects of our lives and relationships. My retired guide dog is an integral part of my face-to-facework, (Although he is not a therapy dog) and he loves meeting people and putting them at ease.
