About me and my therapy practice
Have you suffered a traumatic event or events and struggling with life.
I have worked for more than 20 years; as an arts teacher and now as an Arts Therapeutic Counsellor and an EMDR Therapist (EMDR is a therapy model that helps process trauma).
The therapeutic arts have been part of my life. After 3 decades of experience, I have seen how powerful they are to move people through challenges and difficulties.
This is especially helpful when working with those who cannot put their feelings into words. Art gives access to imaginative ways to express feelings and communicate needs.
Practice description
This can also help deal with uncomfortable feelings and make sense of things. As well as helping to feel more connected and grounded.
But don’t worry, you don't need to be artistic to use this way of working.
I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, meeting you where they are. The time I spend with you is unique, you can expect personalised, compassionate support that you deserve.

About me and my therapy practice
When your child/teenager is struggling and you don’t know how to help, it’s heartbreaking . You feel frustrated, out of control and overwhelmed. Your child is missing out and you are afraid for their future.
I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to do this alone anymore.
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor. I have worked with young people for more than 20 years; as an arts teacher and now as a therapeutic counsellor.
The therapeutic arts have been part of my life for even longer. After 3 decades of experience, I have seen how powerful they are to move people through challenges and difficulties.
This is especially helpful when working with children & teenagers who cannot put their feelings into words. Art and play gives them access to imaginative ways to express their feelings and communicate their needs.
Practice description
I incorporate different techniques depending on the needs of the client, working collaboratively with children and their families. Together we explore the thoughts and feelings behind everyday challenges. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, meeting the individual where they are.
It is such a relief for parents when the family home is happier, calmer and more connected. It is also a very empowering experience as they walk away with a set of tools they can use together in the future when life gets tough.
Life simply feels easier.
There is hope again.
My first session
Your first session
Taking that first step and getting in touch can be daunting, you may have lots of questions on your mind.
This is why I offer a free 20-minute, no-obligation telephone conversation. During this time, we can think about whether it would be helpful to arrange an initial online appointment.
The initial assessment appointment can be up to 75 min.
It involves;
* An in-depth discussion about the situation
* The reasons for considering therapy for yourself or your child
* The most appropriate intervention
* Whether I would be the right person to help with this.
You then decide if I am the right person to help and we book in further sessions.
You are not obligated to book a specific number sessions, however in general I recommend 7 as this gives us enough time together to determine progress.
At the 7th therapy session we complete a review where we discuss if continuing therapy would be helpful.
