About me and my therapy practice

I am currently mainly providing online and telephone counselling, but I also have use of a room in the Community Centre at Trinity Methodist Church, Codsall.

I offer short, medium or long-term Individual counselling. I am experienced in counselling on a wide range of issues: bereavement, anxiety, stress, trauma, work, depression, time-management, etc. I offer flexible appointment times, and genuine concession rates.

To help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you, I can offer a half-hour introductory session at a reduced rate.

Practice description

I provide counselling in person, online and on the telephone, and I occasionally offer home visits if necessary for a small additional charge towards my time and petrol.

I have awareness of different working techniques and will work with you to identify what you are wanting and the best way to work towards that.  Generally you will bring to the sessions what you want to talk about and what's important to you in the moment, and through this we may identify patterns or triggers which we can work with in more depth.

My first session

On the first session I will finalise the contract with you. I will then offer a full assessment, working with you about what has led you to seeking support now, current and previous issues/therapy, and get a sense of the contextual/background information that may be relevant. I will also discuss with you your aims and goals of therapy, the support you have in place and positive influences you have.  We will, if appropriate, establish the nature and focus of our work, and discuss the frequency of our sessions.

If you choose to have the half hour introductory sessions we will discuss what you're looking for and your goals, and get a general sense of what we might work on, but I will not do a full assessment with you. It's also an opportunity for you to get more of a sense of how I work and to discuss the practicalities of counselling.
