I am BACP Registered and Accredited and adhere to their Ethics and Principles.
My background is Person-Centred/Humanistic but I offer an integrative approach, with a mixture of therapies including Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I have undergone training in EMDR, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Emotional Freedom Techniques.
Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Stress Management, Anger Management, Depression, Bullying, Relationship Issues, Trauma, Health issues, Abuse, Addictions, Bereavement and Loss are main areas of interest.
Practice description
If you are finding it difficult to manage your current situation and require some support, Counselling can be very beneficial. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and having space to identify the problem, and work collaboratively to help to provide options, strategies and solutions. The value in being heard without judgement, and acknowledgement of your experience is of prime importance.I offer sessions via face to face, video or telephone. Whichever you choose, counselling can be daunting if it's a new experience but I shall try and put you at your ease. We will work together to identify the problem, and focus of therapy. My approach will be individually tailored to meet your needs.
I can work in a brief solution focused way or offer longer term work, if required.
My first session
I offer you up to 20 minute free telephone consultation where you can say a little about the difficulty you are experiencing, and I shall explain what the structure of counselling will look like.
You can decide if you wish to work face to face, and if so I work in Darlington on Mondays and Tuesdays in Richmond area, but also offer telephone or video sessions from Wednesday to Fridays
You are under no obligation to book counselling is you are not sure if it for you, but if you decide, we will then make all arrangements.
