About me and my therapy practice
Hello, Are you struggling at the moment? Would you like some support in exploring what is going on for you, and finding a way forward?
Something may have happened recently, or in the past, or it may have always been a struggle. Together we can explore how your issue impacts you on a day to day basis, how it influences various aspects of your life and the ways in which it hinders you. From there we try to understand where it has come from, and why it is so powerful before looking at what needs to change in order to allow you to live your life in the way you wish to.
We all have the ability to make changes but sometimes we think, believe or behave in a way which prevents us from realising that potential, leaving us stuck, trapped or going round in circles. By working together we can try to identify and shift the obstacles which are standing in your way.
Our work together will be a collaborative partnership that goes at your pace and lasts for as many sessions as you feel you need. I will not tell you what to do or give you homework, but work with you towards you therapeutic goal.
SINGLE SESSION EFT
I am also an advanced practitioner in EFT (sometimes known as tapping) and offer one-off single sessions allowing the chance to explore an issue using this technique. Sessions involve tapping on acupressure points whilst discussing the experience or feeling you wish to work through, aiming to reduce the emotional impact and allow you to move forwards. It is useful for removing “mental blocks”, reducing anxiety around certain situations, tackling negative thought patterns, increasing motivation, or improving confidence.
Because these are single sessions, working on something with roots in complex trauma would not be appropriate, but I am also happy to discuss how we can combine EFT with longer term counselling if you wish.
Practice description
I work as part of large a counselling team here at my practice. This means that even if for some reason I cannot help you myself - chances are I have a trusted colleague who can! Therefore - even if you just want to ask me general questions about therapy / counselling or your mental health, I would be very happy to answer them - please drop me an email.
My first session
Our first session is a chance to talk about what brings you to therapy, why now, and what it is you are hoping to get from the process. It also allows you to ask me questions and see if I feel like a person you are comfortable with and want to work with. There is no obligation, and you are welcome to take time to think things over before deciding whether you would like to continue.
