About me and my therapy practice
Everyone goes through hard times, sometimes really hard times. When that happens, you can suddenly feel as though you’re not quite sure who you are anymore.
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” - Carl Jung. This is my favourite quote from the counselling world because I truly believe that we are all capable of doing this, we just sometimes need a little helping hand.
I particularly specialise in working with people who might identify as Empaths, People Pleasers, or perhaps even Highly Sensitive People. You might look at some of those terms and resonate with one, or maybe even all of them. You might also look at those terms and dislike them. You might feel as though some of those labels couldn't possibly encompass everything that comes alongside being someone with above average empathy for everyone and the world around them. I'm sure you've heard of disorders such as narcissism, psychopathy, and borderline personality disorder. These are some examples of what you would expect to see in people with below average empathy; I think it's fair to say they get more than their fair share of time in the research limelight.
However, being someone with above average empathy deserves exploration too. Just because it might not seem like a huge problem to society, it doesn't mean that the experience isn’t often debilitating for those who don't understand or know how to manage their sensitivities.

My first session
I understand that choosing the right counsellor for you can be a difficult decision.
This is why I choose to offer a free 20-minute consultation over Zoom. This way we get the opportunity to really start getting to know each other, and figure out (for both of us) if we feel like we'd be a good fit. I’ll get to start truly understanding what it is that you're looking for, and formulate a plan of how I can help. Whilst you get to start experiencing what it's like to work with me one-on-one before you commit to booking your first session.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your counselling journey.
