About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Cat (she/they).
I am a person-centred practitioner working as a therapist, supervisor and trainer since qualifying in 2006.
As a queer identifying person, my practice has a GSRD (gender, sexuality and relationship diversity) and neurodiverse focus. I am passionate about the potential of the person-centred approach in supporting and enriching diverse and creative relationship with self, others, the environment and more broadly within society and communities. A central focus for me is a commitment to non-oppressive practice in both my work and more generally within the profession, in service to creating real change, equality and accessibility.
My practice is grounded in the person-centred approach. This means that you are at the centre of the therapy and that I am committed to hearing and understanding how you experience yourself, your relationships and the world around you. From here, we can begin to develop self awareness and find ways forward that feel more growthful and satisfying. My aim is to provide a space in which you can feel safely listened to and understood, that I am genuinely present to you and our work together and that you feel that the counselling relationship is informed by my acceptance of you as a person of worth.
Alongside general counselling enquiries, I welcome the opportunity to work with people wishing to explore issues relating to identity, GSRD (gender, sexuality and relationship diversity) and neurodiversity.
My first session
An initial exploratory session will be offered (at a half fee rate) in which we can meet and talk a little about what has brought you to therapy. We can also discuss whether I can offer the right and appropriate support for you and discuss fees, session times and cancellation policy. I’ll provide you with some information about my service and my GDPR (privacy notice).
You are encouraged to consider whether you feel I’m the right person for you and I won’t insist you accept counselling with me if it doesn’t feel right. If an onward referral or signposting would be most helpful, that will be offered to you as required.

About me and my therapy practice
As an experienced counselling trainer, I deliver training from Introductory Listening Skills to Professional Counselling Training and, currently, supervision training and supervisor CPD offers. I am also available on a self employed basis for a variety of training workshops and facilitated group work.
Practice description
My practice is grounded in the person-centred approach, meaning that the people I work with are at the centre of the training experience. I endeavour to work collaboratively and creatively to create relational spaces for learning and experiencing, encountering self and each other, feeling held within the challenge of group work.
As a queer identifying person, my practice has a clear GSRD (gender, sexuality and relationhsip diversity) and neurodiverse focus, with a commitment to anti-racist, non-oppressive practice.

About me and my therapy practice
I have worked as a person-centred supervisor since 2009, both in private practice and for local counselling services. I offer supervision not only to fellow counselling practitioners and to trainee counsellors but also to other professionals who work directly with people, in a supporting/helping role. My ongoing experience as a therapist, a counselling and a supervision course trainer keeps me up to date and continues to inform my work as a supervisor. I value highly the role of supervision in practice and endeavour to offer this valuing back to supervisees in our work together.
