About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced BACP-accredited and BPC-registered psychodynamic psychotherapist and a trained supervisor, working continuously as a qualified therapist for nearly 30 years. I am experienced in NHS settings and in private practice, as well as educational work. My trainings include Psychotherapy Membership of the Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP), a Postgraduate Diploma (1994) and an MA (2001) in Psychodynamic Counselling from Reading University and a Diploma in Supervision with the SAP. I am also a qualified practitioner, supervisor and trainer in (IAPT-approved) Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, an evidence-based brief-therapy model, accredited by the BPC. My first degree was in Physiology (BSc Hons, 1975) from Leeds University. I have worked as a tutor in the training of psychotherapists at Oxford University (Cont. Ed. Dept). I am an experienced supervisor of both open-ended and time-limited models of working in NHS training placements, private practice, educational settings and the charitable sector. I work from a Jungian perspective. My therapeutic work is mostly in private practice in West Berkshire, close to Newbury, Basingstoke and Reading. Currently I can discuss options for therapy in person or via the telephone or video-linking if necessary. I may sometimes have lower-cost sessions available.
