About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, my name is Fiona. I would assume that if you are scrolling through these pages you are probably at a point in your life where you are finding it difficult to cope, you’re stressed, unhappy and not sure how to make changes. Almost all of us face these feelings at some stage in life. Whether it’s through worries such as health, relationship or work, a bereavement, struggling to cope with change or we are simply feeling alone therapy can help.
Reaching out and admitting that you are finding your situation tough is the first step along the journey towards making those changes, improving your emotional wellbeing, understanding yourself and your behaviours better and raising your self-esteem. From my own experience of therapy, I know how hard that first step can be, but I also know how rich the benefits can be from taking it. I know how making that first step helped me to find hidden strengths and an inner resilience, enabling me to better cope with and respond to changing circumstances.
I am here, and ready to walk alongside you in that journey. I will keep you at the very heart of every session, ensuring that you feel free to say whatever is on your mind without criticism or judgement. I invite you to think of this as your time and space to bring whatever you need. Together, in this unique space we can explore what brings you to therapy, the things that may be holding you back, and that can provide insight into a way forward which allows you to live more fully, speak your own truth, create greater connections in your life, whatever that might be for you.
Practice description
I work, predominantly, face-to-face from a therapy room on Norton High Street
My first session
The first session can feel quite daunting, but by being warm and welcoming, I will do everything I can to make you feel comfortable as quickly as possible. The first session will allow us to get to know each other and for you to tell me what has brought you to counselling. You may know what you want to achieve through therapy, in which case we can talk through your goals and expectations. However, a lot of people do not know what they want to achieve and that is ok too. The first session will take up to 50 minutes and will allow us to talk about confidentiality and go through a few bits of paperwork together.

About me and my therapy practice
I have recently undertaken my Advanced Specialist Diploma in Clinical and Creative Supervision and I am offering reduced rate supervision while I accrue my hours.
I have been running my own private practice for several years part time as well as working with those affected by life-limiting illnesses at our local hospice.
Originally Person-Centred I have gradually developed the "tools" that I use with clients to enhance my work. However, the quality of the therapeutic relationship with clients and supervisees remains the bedrock of my practice.
I am the sort of supervisor who is able to support you both in your client work, and personally. I have always had a passion for encouraging excellent professional practice and promoting personal growth and development, and I am passionate about doing this within supervision.
I will explore with you what you want to gain from supervision, so that we can work together to enhance your practice. I recognise that we are not professionals in a vacuum and that what is going on in our personal lives has a significant impact on how we respond to our clients. With that in mind, I am happy to support you with personal issues that are impacting your work. Together we would create a space where you can explore yourself and develop you individual style, whilst sharing the joys and challenges of client work.
Whilst using a reflective approach in supervision sessions, I will encourage your attunement to your internal supervisor to help you work most effectively.
Please be aware, that as I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework, I would expect supervisees to also be a member of a professional body and to adhere to their ethical framework.
Practice description
I work from a designated first floor room in the village of Norton. There is usually free, accessible parking very close to my room. Finding me is very easy as Norton is just off the A19.
I am currently offering face-to-face sessions.
My first session
I am happy to provide a one off supervision session to prospective supervisees without obligation to continue. I believe that this will give us an opportunity to see how we may work together and to answer any questions that you might have.
Following this first session we will discuss our supervision contract and your expectations re supervision.
