About me and my therapy practice

Are you are looking for a Counsellor to help you with your difficulties, experiences and feelings that are hard to manage, or perhaps hard to understand? Does something need to change?

Hello, I’m Tracey. I am an experienced, qualified and accredited Counsellor, offering open-ended or shorter-term counselling to young people (from 13) and adults in various stages of their lives.

I help clients who come to counselling for many different reasons. Those reasons may have led to feelings of anxiety, worry, low mood, depression, sadness, stress or uncertainty. These feelings may relate to their past, present or future.

Some may be living with loss, bereavement, trauma, a difficult childhood or relationship difficulties. There may be work related stress, low confidence or low self-esteem. There may be concerns with identity and belonging, their health or significant life changes. Some may be in difficult situations, have competing demands or face uncertainties and difficult decisions.

My counselling approach is based on psychodynamic theory, which helps us understand how early experiences affect us and how they may be linked to present concerns.

Clients coming into counselling may be aware of their main difficulties and experiences, while others may be less so to begin with. Whatever is brought to counselling, we work together within a therapeutic relationship to understand and manage difficulties for improved well-being.

Change is possible.

Practice description

I am an experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor, qualified to Post Graduate Advanced Diploma Level. I am Registered and Accredited with the BACP and adhere to their code of Ethics.

I offer weekly counselling sessions which can be in-person (in my counselling room in Stotfold, Bedfordshire) or online (via Zoom) or telephone. We can discuss a hybrid way of working together if this might be best for you.

Consessionary rate for students and trainee Counsellors available.

My first session

If you would like to book an initial counselling session, please send me a message.

During your initial counselling session, we can think about your reasons for counselling, some of your life experiences, and what you hope to gain from counselling. If we agree to continue working together, we will arrange a regular day and time for your sessions. If you have irregular work patterns we can consider alternative days and times. The duration and fee of the initial counselling session is the same as ongoing sessions.

Should you wish to find out a bit more before committing to an initial session, we can arrange a free, no obligation 15-minute telephone call or we can correspond via email.

I look forward to hearing from you.
