About me and my therapy practice
Life brings many challenges, and we might, understandably, seek support in navigating them at times. However, having the courage to discuss our issues and challenges can be incredibly difficult.
Often, we can suppress our feelings of unhappiness, but deep down, we can feel the pain from our past or the anguish from our current problems. Even if we do have someone to talk to, we can feel unable to share the truth for fear of hurting others or being judged by them if they were to know how we really feel.
As a registered integrative therapist, I incorporate Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches, along with Systemic Therapy, which considers the impact of your past, the relationships between people, and how those relationships impact you. I also integrate Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and practical models from Transactional Analysis. I draw on my knowledge of the nervous system and neuroscience to help you understand how your brain and body work together, promoting a sense of safety and self-connection.
My approach nurtures a way for you to gain deeper self-awareness and understand how our bodies and minds work. This enables you to make meaningful choices and discover new ways of responding and relating to the world. When we do, we not only build resilience but can thrive and, over time, find a sense of peace and growth.
Finding yourself reading this suggests you have taken the first step along the path to a better tomorrow, so please get in touch to arrange an initial discussion.
Practice description
I work as an integrative therapist, which means I draw upon different techniques to create a therapeutic roadmap that aligns with your specific needs. However, at the heart of my practice, is a belief in the importance of the counsellor-client relationship, underpinned by person-centred principles.
I also provide counselling services to business and corporate clients, helping business owners and employees better understand and manage workplace pressures. Through individual and group counselling sessions, I create a supportive space where employees can explore their challenges, build emotional resilience and develop coping strategies.
I have a background working in a competitive, highly pressured environment within corporate banking. Additionally, I worked with a leading UK-registered charity, which supports family mental health and well-being. I have also worked for Solar, the partnership between Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, Barnardo’s, and Autism West Midlands.
I am fully insured; all of my work is clinically monitored, and I hold a DBS certificate.
My first session
It is helpful to start with an informal, free, no-obligation telephone call to answer any questions you may have about therapy.
All enquiries are usually answered within 48 hours and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure telephone and email services. If it is not appropriate, for any reason for me to leave a message, please advise of this and provide specific times when I can contact you safely.
