About me and my therapy practice

Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

I am an experienced Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor offering a safe, supportive, non-judgemental space to help you explore your anxieties, difficulties, feelings and behaviours.

I am fully qualified and hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have specific training in bereavement and loss, expressive arts, existential counselling, menopause and counselling in a diverse society.

I practice within the BACP ethical framework and hold an Enhanced DBS certificate. I value diversity and individuality and my practice is non-discriminatory.

Practice description

My therapeutic practice is humanistic and I therefore value your individuality and unique experiences. My role is to help you to explore your thoughts, feeling and behaviours so that you are able to better understand how you relate to yourself, others and the world around you. By creating a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship I can support you through your difficulties and help you along your journey towards becoming more self-aware and self-accepting. My approach is pluralistic which means I am also informed by other theories and methods to best suit your individual needs.

My first session

Research shows that the relationship between the counsellor and client has a huge impact on therapy outcomes and I therefore offer an initial chat either in person, over the phone or via Zoom. It is an opportunity for us to meet, discuss how therapy works, talk about your hopes for therapy, and for you to ask me questions.
