About me and my therapy practice
Welcome! I am a relational Gestalt psychotherapist specialising in anxiety and depression and trauma. I work online with people all over the UK, as well as face-to-face in Brighton and Hove. I work in Polish and English.
I imagine that you have come here because you want to grow and develop, whether you are new to therapy or have already had it in the past. I know that life can be tough and painful. I am here, available to support you in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental atmosphere.
Do you feel stuck, trapped or overwhelmed and struggling to believe that things can change for the better?
Do you get easily sad, anxious, upset or angry and cannot understand why?
Do you have racing thoughts and are good at predicting what could go wrong?
Are you struggling with self-love and self-compassion?
If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, then how about having an initial consultation with me to find out how I can help you?
Practice description
How I Work
I meet you as you are -that is- a 'whole person' (Gestalt means 'whole'). This includes your thinking, feelings, imagination, dreams and any other experience you may have. We will explore your experience together in a safe, non-judgement and confidential space, in a way which is suited to your needs and preferences.
In my experience, when clients give space to, become curious about, and acknowledge feelings that arise for them in their therapeutic explorations, healing happens, and clients often say that something has 'resolved' within them.
What I Can Help You With
I can help you to understand yourself better, strengthen your ability to believe in and trust yourself, and develop kindness and acceptance towards yourself.
I can support you, if you are interested, to use your body awareness as a way of supporting yourself in difficult situation to become more confident, assertive, and grounded.
I can support you to understand how past situations may still be impacting you in your life in a way which will bring you peace and a sense of resolution.
My Qualifications:
Somatic Developmental Psychotherapy - in progress
MSc in Gestalt Psychotherapy, UKCP accredited (Middlesex University)
Clinical Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy (Metanoia Institute)
Postgraduate Clinical Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Gestalt Counselling (Metanoia Institute)

About me and my therapy practice
Katy is a UKCP registered psychotherapist and BACP registered psychotherapeutic counsellor. Katy initially trained in relational Gestalt psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute in London and has further training in Person-Centred Counselling for Depression, Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy and grief work.
Katy works in Polish and English.
Katy works collaboratively with clients, providing a safe, non-judgemental and accepting atmosphere in which clients can explore their experience.
She aims to support clients to develop curiosity regarding what already is present in the here-and-now. This can be the first step towards developing inner kindness and compassion and shedding light on difficult experiences of forgotten, banished, unacceptable, fear provoking, shameful or hated parts of ourselves. When we befriend and integrate these experiences into our conscious psyche, they can support us to lead a more fulfilling life, and slowly, with kindness towards ourselves, to change our habitual patterns of being and behaving in the world.
Katy supports clients to be interested in their holistic experience, both verbal and non-verbal, including gestures, movement and creative expression.
Practice description
In her practice, Katy weaves together Gestalt psychotherapy, psychodynamic theory, parts-of-self theory, paradoxical theory of change, mindfulness practices, and other creative ways of supporting clients to get in touch with their lived and authentic experience.
She adapts her approach to meet the particular needs of individual clients , believing that clients are experts in their own experience and she is there to sit alongside a client as a supportive human.
Katy has experience of working with the NHS, charity and private sector, and a diverse range of issues. Her current interests are relationship issues and family dynamics, anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, loneliness, developmental trauma, grief and post-traumatic growth.
