About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Jamie, and I hold a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling...
I would love to be part of your support system. Having someone next to you on your healing journey is so important - you are not alone and don’t have to suffer in silence. I am passionate about providing a calm, gentle and patient relationship for all my clients.
I deeply care about the well-being of everyone I work with. I have met people from all walks of life, everyone is welcome and I want to hear your story. You deserve a space without judgment to be seen and heard.
I draw on several theories of change to help you get to where you want to be. My priority is to develop our working relationship so you feel safe; we have all the time we need to build that foundational trust. Although we may be working with deep feelings, counselling can be a really fun and enlightening experience.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand what it’s like to feel different from ‘normal’ and work with clients empathetically and non-judgmentally, believing that our differences are what make us all unique and beautiful.
My own life experiences have taught me the value of having a safe and secure therapy space to process traumatic life events and unmanageable feelings; it's a privilege for me to be able to help and support my clients.
I'm passionate about helping people heal from their childhood traumas, increasing self-confidence, and strengthening the relationships you have with yourself and with others. I work well with people who aim to be kinder to themselves and are curious about healthier boundaries.
I'm dedicated and experienced in providing support to individuals from marginalised populations and those affected by loss. Through the practice of self-compassion and self-nurturing, I aim to enhance self-worth and self-acceptance while also enabling others to experience less fear and anxiety about painful emotions.
