About me and my therapy practice
I aim to establish a safe, non-judgemental space with clients where difficult issues and problems can be explored, free from the demands and assumptions of the outside world.
I have a psychodynamic approach which means I help clients work through the underlying causes at the root of problems to enable them to gain more self-awareness and a different perspective on their lives. The interaction which unfolds between us, helps provide important insights into thoughts, behaviour and patterns of relating. I use my knowledge of these processes to work with my client and help guide them towards a more realistic and fulfilling way of relating to themselves and others.
I have a background of 15 years in the public sector and understand the external and internal pressures involved in working life and the impact of coping with these pressures. Also, as a Samaritan volunteer for many years, I have offered emotional support to people from many walks of life suffering from distress caused by a wide range of difficult issues.
